Front Leaf Spring....

Front Leaf Spring....

I noticed that some of the trucks have Leaf Springs in the front and some had the coil spings in the Front.

Is one better than the other? Is it hard to convert back and forth?

leaf spring is def better, if it wasnt they wouldnt use em on semi's and other heavy hauling trucks, I'm done with coil springs they, ride nice but I hate it they went back to em on the new superdutys

The only benefit to leafs is that they are simple! Coils are DEF. better.

That being said, I had a 78 Bronco I put 1-ton stuff in. Changed it over to leaf in the front. Wasn't that hard either. Works very well. Have no reason to ever change it!

I think it depends on what your going for, unless your seriously 4-wheelin' it, I like leafs purely for their simplicity. Leafs act as a spring AND means of locating the axle. Simple(that's why you see them in big rigs, even though now most stuff is air ride except for the front end) Coils do work better though, that's why cars have used coils for the last 40 or 50 years!...lol

Does anyone have the needed parts they want to sell for a conversion if I decided to go that route? And what year make model trucks should I look for if I decided to go with leafs? Would it be a bolt in mod?

79 and older, F-150=coil, F-250, 350=leafs, with the exception of the F-150 supercab, i believe, which had leafs.
