I have a 90' f250 with a 4spd that i put a 6.9 in last year, i have turned the pump up 1.5 flats and have straightpiped it from the y pipe back, what else should i do to improve pulling power? I pull horses and campers a lot so any help would be greatly appreciated
Figured that would come up quick, we just had baby 2 months ago so were a little tight in the financial department, i don't wanna spend a couple grand on a turbo just yet, hopefully this summer it will happen though.
i just looked at a post about a hypermax intake kit and it looks like u can easily make this urself and cheap. u can just reroute your intake tube cut a hole in ur firewall so it can draw air threw ur cowl. look at the hypermax cowl post on the site.
Have you removed the soupbowl.
did you keep the stock y and run one pipe and what size is it.
Did you install a cold air intake. these can be fabbed way better than factory.
I don't know about the 90 models but the older ones the firewall is already a weekspot that we have to reinforce, so I would be hesitant to cut a hole in it.
I belive Dave S. and cheeper jeeper has pictures in their gallery of the cold air intake they built. I think cheeper built a Y pipe way better than stock. breathing is these things most important thing you can do.
