quick question........

My 96 started loping real bad like whoop whoop whoop etc...... Only on start up and when I give it the pedal it stops. So I started it in neutral, and it starts and runs fine. Tried this several times back and forth with the same results. I've pretty much narrowed it down to the Tranny Range sensor. I hope it fixes it. Can you guys tell me where the TR sensor is on this tranny. And is there any special tips or tricks to replace it? Thanks guys!

should be on the driver side of the tranny right about the middle. and if im thinking right all you have to do is unbolt it and pull it off. it should be at the end of the shift cable.

That would be correct for the location. When i swapped my tranny i swapped my TRS from my tranny to the new one just because i didnt want to chance it not working on the one i picked up and when i unbolted it it wouldnt come off, it was corroded solid and ended up breaking it off. I thought i was SOL but if it happens to you just pull off the pan and you can see where is disconnects on the inside and you can take it apart easily to replace it. Hopefully you dont have the same crap luck as me and it just comes off but if it does break its not the end of the world as i thought lol.

to prevent that you could probably spray the shaft that it slides on down with some pb blaster or some wd40 and let it sit for a whole. that would break up the corrotion back there. then just wiggle it real easy. it will come off.

No problem. I didn't have the time to wait for the PB to do its stuff so i just took the chance. But i ended up learning a thing or two in the process so it was worth it.
