Wiperblade problem....

Wiperblade problem....
I have a '98 F-150, and one day my driver's side wiperblade stopped working. The passenger side still works fine, and the driver's side tries to work, it moves less than a half inch either way. I am able to move the blade by hand with no resistance. Any reason why one side would stop working? Any suggestions???

Not sure if these wipers use a nut or clip to hold them on... If it is a nut, the nut could have loosened up allowing the wiper to "slip" or the splines could be stripped, Try tightening the nut. If it is the clip type then most likely the splines have stripped and needs to have the arm or whole assembly replaced.

Minitrk is correct.
Pop off the black plastic cover on the drive end of the wiper arm with a small screwdriver, then use a 15MM socket or wrench to tighten the hold down nut. Be sure the wiper arm is aligned correctly, wipers "off", before you tighten the nut.
Press the plastic cover back on over the nut.
