Is it possible to decode this engine from this number on the intake? C6AE9425-H

there will be raised lettering in the metal of the engine block. You have to look for it, they are not all in the same place. You might have to use some engine de-greaser. The way ford started numbering engines was like this:
The first letter corresponds to the decade...
A=1940's
B=1950's
etc.
and the number corresponds to the year...
so for example if the block says....
C5******
it is a '65 engine.

[FONT COLOR="#0000ff" SIZE="+1" FACE="Tahoma"]It is not a good idea to rely on the intake casting code alone to id an engine because that particular part is easily changed and the same part may have multiple applications. To get the full picture, we need the block casting code and date codes from the major components. I like to get the numbers from as many parts as possible, including the heads, intake, exhaust manifolds and block, amongst other items.
