Disk Conversion/ Tie Rod Compatability

70 F100... I've got spindles off a '75. What I need to know is if Tie Rod ends from a '75 will fit on the Tie Rods of the '70. I don't like the idea of filing or machining the bosses if there is an easy swap. I need to get new Tie Rod ends anyway.

That is a good question. For the average owner like me that would have the same question, swapping out the whole I-beams makes better sense. You would then know the year model of all your front end parts.

When I put the axles from a '73 F250 under my '72 F100 I had to use the tie rod from the '73 because the tie rod ends were larger in diameter. Tie length was exactly the same. You should be good to go using the tie rod that matches the spindle.

Seems to me they changed the tie rod/draglink assembly slightly about halfway through 71. If you use a complete wheel to wheel assembly from your donor truck, you shouldn't have any trouble. Don't try to mix parts from different years. I learned this when I put disks on a 67.
