Recovering Methanol

I have successfully processed many gallons of BD. The worst time consuming and pain in the butt is removing the methanol from the bio prior to cleaning in Magnesol. MUST I remove the methanol or can I just put the bio in the magnesol tank to finish. I don't really capture that much. I would rather leave it in.

Sorry Tom.................Been really busy lately and forgot to answer your email. Must be some-timers disease...............

The answer is no, you don't have to remove the methanol first. Removing the methanol first just allows any soap to settle out, and uses less Magnesol. Just add a little more Magnesol and you should be fine.

I use 3# for a 40 gal batch. What amount should I add?
Nice to see you are busy. Good for you. Thanks and take care.
