Biggest Tires on stock Expedition?

What are the biggest tires that fit on a stock 2000 Expedition without rubbing or hitting the wheel well while the suspension at maximum compresion and the steering is locked left or right?

By the way anyone who wants to make their truck look higher, just take off the step up bars. This added a huge appearance of hieght to my truck. Not to mention where the steps mounted were rotting out my body. Luckly I got pretty good at body work last year.

We have 265 75 R16 Goodyear wranglers and there is no rubbing I think I could run 285 75 R16s no problem but not completely sure. Plus ours is a 97 Expedition with no air suspension.

On other threads I see that some people are using 285 75 17, is this the largest, and how will this look with a 3-4" lift down the road? No pun intended.

I believe that you can ru a 285/70/17 by just turning up the torsion bars in the front. I have 265/70/17's on my 2002 E.B and I have the front turned up. I am looking for a nice used set of 295's o mount on the factory wheels. But keep in mind the bigger the tire the bigger the price, and the heavier the tire. So there are some cons going bigger but to me the pros out weigh them with great looks. And when it comes to these great looks you can count on the fuel milage does go down. If you drive one of these you sould not even be worried about gas mileage.

Yeah, I had a V8 car whos name I dare not say here, but had it up around 500hp when I was in the Navy about 10 years ago. Me and my friends would cruise Virginia Beach boardwalk in it because it was loud as hell with strait pipes. Anyway I would make it up and down about a mile and a half strip twice with all the stop and go of everyone cruising and refil my tank at this mobile at the end. Granted back then in Virginia gas was about 1.34$ so who cared LOL.
