The 1979 Ford Mustang had a single serpentine belt with an actual tensioner. The LTD was just like a V belt setup as set tension with the accessories.

You re correct about the Mustang, I should have looked past the LTD which is listed first in the catalog.

A serpentine belt has a JK6 Motorcraft part number prefix.

1979 Mustang 302 Motorcraft JK6842 w/o A/C / JK6942 w/A/C.

1979 LTD 302/351W Motorcraft JK6502, JK6510, JK6512 it depends on which alternator the car has, wheter a 302 or a 351W.

There's also a T/E belt and an A/C belt, not serpentine.

Yes, that is exactly what my LTD setup is like. As Number Dummy said, the AC compressor (which I did not use) takes a separate V belt. The AC compressor is huge and not what I would suggest for a street rod. The WP, ALT and PS pump drive off a single serpentine. It looks pretty clean, and I liked the "modern" style accessories I could actually find locally new if I needed to.

The Foxbody mustangs through 1993, and SN95 (94-95) Mustangs are good donors. You can delete smog and AC by simply re-routing a shorter serpentine belt. Aftermarket accessory delete pulleys are also available. On my 94, deleting the AIR pump puts an odd angle on the alternator. The delete pulley fixes it.
