I have a 2005 f150 xlt supercrew and when i bought the truck it had a leveling kit and wheel spacers with 22" rims and 33" tires on it, yeah it was ugly. I got rid of the bling rims and got the stock rims back on the truck with 35" tires. I trimmed the front valence but the tires still barely rub on the back part of the inner fender well when backing up and turning. After searching i found the Skyjacker F430STK lift kit for less than $400 and was wondering if anyone had done this and if this would give me the added lift. I was already thinking about the add a leaf in the rear to increase the payload. Would i be able to keep the leveling kit in the front to keep the more lift? This is my first time looking into lifting a truck so any information is greatly appreciated.

 

the skyjacker kit is not a traditional "Lift Kit"...they and Readylift make a 3" kit.

Basically they take your normal 2.5" Leveling Kit up front, and a 1" AAL or 3" block for the rear axle.


a complete and utter waste of money IMO. You can get the same effect for 1/2 the cost, and it will be of better quality.




for that rubbing, alot of guys have pulled the fender liner out of the way...or just trimmed the offending section.


You can buy a no **** 6" Lift Kit from Pro-Comp or Rough Country for about $1,200 right now. You've already done as much as you can on the stock suspsension. The next step will be either a 6" lift kit, or a 3" body lift
