Oooops!

I got a call yesterday from a local farm that had a small problem.......

All the bolts holding the Torque Arm sheared when the operator turned a corner. Took 12 hours to repair! I love my work!

Looks like it could have been an expensive oops. Did the bolts letting loose cause any other carnage besides the torque arm letting loose?

No broken castings. The "dogbone" link on the bottom of the final drive was bent and the drive-line was in 2 pieces. Could have been a lot worse. The last one I repaired took out the radiator too............

$500 to me
$600 for parts
Labor for two helpers.........?
Lost production for 1 day $40,000

Farming is not cheep!

Good work, Don. At $40k a day production, $1100+ for repairs is cheap.

Off topic, but I got to relocate one of my 40' containers yesterday to our new place. Just after this pic was taken we got it almost all the way onto the trailer....................and the back slid all the way off the trailer. 2 more hours of screwing around with my tow truck to get it back on, we were done! All this in 105 deg heat........................

Now I just have to put back the 9 pu loads of stuff I had to take out before the move. Then I get to do it all over again with container #2
