brake problem

brake problem

ok heres the deal. i have no brakes first thing in the morning. backing up or going forward. pump a few times, bingo, have brakes. go down the road, back up with slight and i mean slight incline, no brakes. pump, pump, pump, have brakes. i have power assist master cyl 7 in, installed underneath drivers side. front disc rear drum. cant find a leak. blead everything and still a problem. brakes are 3 yrs. old. problem just started this summer

If no leaks, I'd start with the Master Cylinder thinking that it's seeping past the piston until you pump it.

Agree!

Brake fluid is flowing around the seals or O-rings.

Do you have the residule valves on the lines since you have your MC under your driver's side they are needed to keep fluid in the lines.

That wouldn't explain why they were good for the last 3 year though. Would it? No residual valve would present a problem eary on right? I could be wrong. Mine don't have them. I've been wrong before in the past, I'll be wrong again in the future.
