Missing
My '96 F-250 is missing bad and no power. It's also got a knocking sound. I bought this truck new and this has never been a problem before. Truck is basically stock/factory with K+N air filter, round down pipe and Superchips timing with 170,000 miles on her. (I drive my IDI's most of the time).I think this is a bad injector but not sure how to isolate the culprit. Only other work has been replace the cam follower and glow plugs 2-3 years ago. Any suggestions?

You an plug it into a scan tool and it will tell you some things with a buzz test done cold and stopped and a contribution test done warm and running.A warning about the contribution test is that it is notoriousl unreliable, my truck will give different bad cylinders everytime the test is run even if it is running great. Same as your IDIs you should probably run some cleaner through it, check filters some others can help you with that better than I. I can give you a redneck cylinder check that works everytime and positively isolates the bad one(s), Feel the exhaust manifolds at the ports. Start it and let it run a minute to warm things and just lay your hand on the maniflds as close to the port as you can, very easy to find non-firing cylinders. It is much easier to do the RH bank reaching past the tire through the hole inthe fenderwell. The LH bank is easier done from the top.
