Evening Jr, Charlie and David.
Charlie, the stone and oil seems to hold up pretty good here and it does help give some more traction in the roads during the winter which is always nice. One advantage right now is that all of the vehicles that drive on the road are driving nice and slow. Maybe they do not want any stone dings in the paint job.
On a side note..... NYSDOT is in the process of putting a top coat of asphalt on a 14 mile stretch of state road that is just south of me. All that I can think of and wonder is if they have had any soft stinky spots !!!!!!
Actually the trucks that have been hired in to haul for the job are tractor trailers with 4 axles with duals on the rear and they have the conveyor system for unloading.

Evening Neil! Yes, I humbly accepted my new designation. Now, to figure out how to move on up the ranks...

I do not believe that there is a way to move up in the ranks..... unless someone has been slacking and did not tell me about it.
How is it in DE/MD tonight ? Here we have had a shower since about 5 this afternoon and it may have let up some right now.

md tried the bottom dump trailers here, diddn't work out too well. the system for picking up the asphalt, and transfering it into the paver made quite a mess. we're back to dumping into the paver. good for me, keeps my truck going. bad for the bottom dumps, they went back to hauling grain
