MO shared work program
Essentially, my employer has reduced our working hours by roughly 28%.
State of Missouri is SUPPORTING my employer (on the theory that they're avoiding a COMPLETE lay off of anyone by slicing everyone) and the MO unemployment insurance is kicking in to "help".
Essentially, I work three days of week A, five days of week B, and three days of week C. Instead of 15 working days, I work 11, and unemployment insurance pays me for the other four...
...is how they explained it to me.
During the month of June, I was laid off four days.
As of now, my "unemployment benefit" is roughly equal to ONE days lost wages.
WTF?
...methinks it's time to start looking for the next thing...
More jobs out there, than hard working people like yourself, so go get them! Good luck cause the pay is LOW with so many folks like yourself needing to upgrade job/pay just to live.
I might have to sign on another year over just to have a job
Have no idea what "special deal" MO has made with your employer. But I'm willing to bet that it only states it will pay the unemployment rate and not full rate.
I always thought it was a good deal. We would get a three or four day weekend but still make 50-65 bucks on our off day. Your's up there sounds a bit more crazy on the scheduling than ours.
