Do you have the extended warranty?

Don't forget Tylus, you have the 5/60,000 power train already. Must be nice to only drive 10K a year! I put 27K in one year with my Expy.
Also email this guy for a quote. TDietrich@FD-Warranty.com. Troy can get the Ford ESP for a bit cheaper than I could even with the code. Many on this site are happy with him.

I've got this thread bookmarked. I'll check out his prices when I buy and do some shopping around...but I'm not sure how much better he can do than $530
When exactly does the ESP start?
From the day of purchase of the ESP?
or
From the date of the vehicle purchase?
if from the date of the ESP purchase...sounds like a wicked deal to ensure you have 100% coverage for 10yrs...but it can't be that easy is it?

I purchased my extended warranty last week from Troy through Ford of Greenfield. I got the 5/100K mile Premium with $100 deductible and first day rental. He was very professional and the price was lower than anywhere else I could find. He blew away my dealers price by close to 40%. I recommend him to anyone needing a warranty.

I don't mean to be the contrarian in this discussion, but I've always thought extended warranties were a ripoff. A thousand bucks will buy a lot of car fixing, and as an aging shade tree mechanic, I have enough arrogance to think I can always fix it myself. The truck will tell you what's wrong with it using a scan tool, diagnostics are a piece of cake now.
Other than a piece of crap new Cadillac I bought several years ago, I've never had a big repair bill.
In this day and age, the drive train on any of the F150 derivatives is good for at least a couple hundred thousand miles. The first thing that usually quits on fleet vehicles is the transmission at close to 200,000 miles. Engines seem to last forever if maintained.
If you would have invested that thousand bucks in Ford Motor Co. stock in the first quarter, you would now have over seven large now to spend on gas.

I agree in principle "08"! I have never bought warranties on anything except this thing--saved a lot of money over the years. A lot of it went out the exaust of boats .
The reason for this one is that the house frau and the grands use it when they are here and I dont usually go with them on their local runarounds. Its a lot of value for me to know they can go to a nearby dealership and get taken care of without my having to worry about getting parts etc. Between the warranty and AAA they can at least get home and get the expy taken somewhere.
About the only concern I really have is the tranny and although I have rebuilt and fixed all my auto's, I would not want to dig into this one (even though I am not afraid of it) and have to get it fixed in any short timeframe. I have saved so much money on warranties that I am just worn out-----

If you have had my luck you would have gotten one the day you bought your car. One lemon lawed and this one not as bad, but it's share of expensive problems-new head, friction plates in the tranny, fan clutch, two window regulators. I didn't think this trend would stop at 36K miles. If my car had been more reliable, I agree, I would have kept the money aside and fixed the minor things myself.

Point well taken. A wise man once told me " if there was anyway we could get all these beautiful grandchildren without the women, it would be wonderful world".

Right, In CA it is 10 days, it may vary state to state. Typically even with ESP, you don't get a rental unless they need your car overnight, which, you can just schedule to drop it off later in the day, but for $90 I added first day rental, which gets you a car no matter what.
