ignition
I have taken the dash off my truck to get into the ignition of my truck, when i did that i can take a flat head and push the gear looking thing towards the dash and the shaft will move and it will start, but i cant get it to trun off. Does anyone have any help.

I guess your working the ignition switch from the lock cylinder area?
The lock cylinder (where you stick your key), pushes the rod and the rod moves the ignition switch. I believe forward is forward, so if you pull this rod back it should shut the engine off. If it doesn't then the rod might have jumped out of the socket in the switch. In that case, loosen the two bolts on the switch and try moving it around. If it stil will not shut off, your going to need to pull the switch and inspect it.
