tailgate compatible?

Will a dentside tailgate from a 80-86 fit on the bed of a 78 for dentside bed? What if any mods will need to be done?

I don't think the 80-86 will fit, I might be wrong. But the 67-72 will fit on there fine, the body lines just won't line up.

I think I may have messed up. Is this a Styleside?

Your truck is a flareside(ford term), i couldnt really tell you if it would fit,,,my bed would be no. The chancesof them having changed the hing height etc. is pretty good.
