Thanks (most) everyone for the replies. Just started a new job and haven't had a chance to come up for air.

For the record. This is my third car and sits idle in the carport 95% of the time. My daily driver is a fuel sipper. I'm not "expecting" anything out of this truck. I was merely curious if anyone had any tips, and some of you did. Thank you.

Others, not so.

I know what this truck is and what it's meant for. I bought it for that reason.

I'm satisfied with 8 MPG. Was wondering if there was any trick to squeeze an extra mile or two out of the deal -- that's all. Wasn't looking for a miracle, nor was I complaining.

At least none of you suggested taping magnets around the fuel line!

Well, Burt gets 11-12 empty and 8.5 towing a 4,500 lb travel trailer, with a 460, C6AT and 3:53 diff. The best thing I might suggest is making sure your truck is tuned to specs, driving like you have "an egg under your foot" (as you have stated) and perhaps changing the rear to an "easier" ratio. You will loose power, but may gain 1-2mpg.. Not really worth it in my book for the usage you state though. Sorry I couldn't offer more!
