This is like no other flu strain they've ever seen. Flu season has nothing to do with it.

They say it'll take months to come up with a vaccine. Who knows, there might be millions dead by then? I sure hope not.

From what I've read, flu season does have something to do with it. Also, apparently anti-viral drugs like Tami-flu are successful in treating this strain, so I'm not so sure we're talking about millions dead.

Still too soon to say for sure, but I'm sure we'll all be hearing more about this in the coming days.

Talking

I think we all should start wearing surgical masks until the ones in control of our news decide that the danger is REALLY OVER. There are some places I go where maybe it would be needed........like walmart maybe Too bad that if most of us were to wear a mask to work THE MAN would make you take it off or fire you....Do we really trust HOMELAND SECURITY to stay on top of this before we could be sick to death like a flock of sick sheep?note: not being polictical. just curious

Just a little FYI no where has it been said that SF came over on the backs of illegals from Mexico. It has shown to have originated in Mexico and for everyones information as much as I despise an illegal there are businessmen, doctors, lawyers etc in that country. You do not know that a multi million dollar business man didn't bring it over, a nurse furthering her studies etc and they will be returning home. Some people do love Mexico and travel here and go back. It isn't like they all leave there and come here. And who is to say it wasn't a white American tourist who didn't catch it and bring it back and give it to the illegals putting the roof on his house, feeding his cows etc? Be careful where the stones get thrown. It is the not knowing that should cause alarm. Closing border now is like locking door after burgler has entered your house. Its out there, it is spreading and no matter what we do to keep it out it is here.
Just quit calling it the result of illegals being here. It isn't. It is the result of someone somewhere bringing it here.

Good post hoosierbaby64.

So far no deaths here in the U.S. from this swine flu.
That's the good news.

The bad news;
Lets not forget that your standard yearly flu kills about 35,000 per year in the U.S. alone, or so I heard.

BTW, didn't the Europeans bring disease the the new world?

Just a thought.

The correct name for this should be "the mexican flu" . Thats where it came from the experts say. At least we know that the 7000 illegals who came in last night and more tonight arent a factor in spreading it.

It does appear this is spreading in the US much faster through school age children. Perhaps we should just lock all of them in their rooms until this subsides.

I just heard that the pork industry wants the name changed
from swine flu to either Mexican Flu or North American Flu because of the bad
rap it's getting.

BTW, you can't get the 'SWINE FLU' from eating pigs.
