hub changes

Question hub changes

Im trying to find out how hard it is to change from automatic hubs to manual hubs on my 89 F150. This my frist 4wd truck.

Your truck does have the 5 hole automatic hubs, right? If so, all you have to do is pull all the automatic stuff out and put the manual stuff in.

My truck has the three hole automatic hubs.

It came from the factory with the five hole hubs, so someone must have fooled around with it in the past. Regardless, that link shows both hub styles. The only thing that will matter are the spindle nut(s) that hold the hub on. If for some reason the spindle nuts were switched to the 3 hole style, they will need to be changed back to the original style so you can use manual hubs. The nuts may or may not have been switched.

Pull out both automatic hubs and verify which spindle nuts are installed on your truck.

The hubs have been change at one time befor I got the truck. I Had to buy the axle nut kit form warn and the hubs at the same time. Thanks for the feed back. This has been alot help for me.
