Nice truck, cool picture, it's kind of how Hollywood does it when they have a scene when heaven is shining down. I'm not a religious guy but it seems like God might want to drive around in a slick.

Certainly can tell where I migrate to with my cup of coffee, and early morning stogie.
Currently in Northern Ca. making repairs on rental property, truck is resting in Lebec, Ca., located at the top of the 'Grapevine' off I-5. Heck, if the almighty wants to take a spin he/she is more than welcome, it does not get driven during my absence, rest of the family does not know what a clutch is. Wow, now that I look at the pic the hell with repairs for now, think I will head back.

Bill, it's is not the original bumper, salvaged from a Pic N Pull few yrs. back. Not sure why I would have included the dealer's plate, it's called 'oleheimers'.

 

The reason I asked is...that Black Plate is only a few digits from mine, so the truck prolly was sold at one of three West LA Ford dealers that used the same DMV office that issued the S plates.

My truck came from Stockton Quincy Ford in Westwood (near UCLA), I wouldn't be surprised if your's did too.

I know where Lebec is, found a 1929 Lincoln tow truck there in the 1970's (on a ranch) that had been formerly owned by Maddux Inc., the former CA Lincoln Distributor.

Maddux was the founder of Transcontinental & Western Air, later known as TWA when owned by Howard Hughes.

 

Bill, purchased the truck from owner in Walnut Creek, NorCa., and I was going to use the truck as a donor so did not get into the trucks history with him, one of my many mistakes. He made some modifications to the truck I now wish I had gotten some input on. The plates have a Hayward dealship name, but certain he purchased it from another owner.

Originally purchased the property in mid 80's from Jim Wainright, named a Lebec street after him. He was also heavily involved with the RNC, which I can understand as he was a property developer. Anyhow, very nice man who has since passed away. Still have not gotten use to the occasional Santa Anna winds, it's an upper desert vs lower desert thing, or wind tunnel, just need to anchor oneself down, likely don't have to remind you.

 

my 63... to the very right of the picture you can see the mountian called north mountian even though its to the west of me haha... i see that ever monring when i wake up...(also one of my favorite swiming holes is back there) if you fallow the angle of the camera... from where the shot was taken to the to basically the middle of the pic... on the very top, you will see white horse mountian...(very beautiful mnt... and there are 7 horses up there... if you have a creative eye, you can see most of them durring the winter... haha)

Cool, look at those nice green hillsides, imagine in the great state of Wash yu get a few inches of rain in the winter to keep the mountain green and swimming holes full. I found free 'photobucket' allows for number of options for editing. Problem with 'photobucket', and simular online photo album storage sites, is once the photo is deleted the picture is removed from all posted links, that's why wish FTE gallery was working again. O'well.

 

Easy solution. Don't delete them from Photo Bucket.

 

Not an issue with most of my photos but since they are open for public viewing I kinda like to monitor which pic's I keep, particularly if I copy a picture of members project for references that may include member of the family. Also, accumulated so many pages of photos this ole timer could not keep track of what photos he had.

 

Understand. My wife has never taken a picture she didn't like and keep. Has thousands in her computer. I keep having to buy her larger hard drives and more storage.

 

all original except for an electronic fuel pump, and the headers, i need to put the oil bath air cover back on it though...



just the door... quick question though... does any one know what was sapost to be under those little rubber things underneath the wing window???

really need to get those wires tied under the dash soon... some times pick your foot up off the brake pedal and you catch the one for the fuel pump switch and cuts power to the pump... really crappy when the truck starts sputtering down the high way hahaha

i have all 4 of the alluminum mags, but i need to get the rears some new rubbers... paid 200 dollars for them last summer, front rubber was brand new, the rears where pretty bald... ended up poping one of them and having to put the spare back on... they came off of an 85? dodge ram half ton...



already burnt the paint off... i should of dished out the extra cash to get them ceramic coated, they are the shorties or stubbies from redsheaders... i think i also should of got the long tube instead of the stubbies...

front end... i have the headlight surrounds, but took them off and painted them black since one of the last owners primered them... i am thinking about doing the grill and everything else black... along with the bumper, and then either a white body... or red body...

 

Nice truck!! Have not found a high temp paint for headers and exhaust that last more than few years. Just painted the headers on the 65 and went the cheap route trying the VHT brand, according to the can it contains a ceramic base and suppose to be good up to 1500 degrees, kinda expensive at $10 a can. Anyhow, like your truck, little fixing up and tender lovin care is all your slick needs.
