What are the best V10 mods??

The best bang-for-the-buck is definitely Mike@5-star's tunes.
My '01, with ebay headers (not worth much in performance, but noticeable difference at high rpms), y-pipe and Volant intake (also both not worth a whole lot overall), went from a 10 second 0-60, down to a 9 second 0-60. 10% reduction in acceleration times.
That's with his 87 octane performance tune, a combination of spark/fuel (open loop at WOT) and shifting, that's a big bump in performance.
Gears are next. Other than that, there isn't a whole lot more power out of these things without a strap-on power-adder.

Mikes 5 star tuner for V10
I have been working towards getting better gas milage out of my 01 V10. Changed gearing, got one mile more per gallon, may not of been cost effective.
I keep hearing about mikes tuner, but never a comment about gains in mpg. Is there enought change in mpg for me to look in to buying one?

The #1 one "power adder", bar none, is putting in a set of 4.30s. Keep your Y-pipe, tuner, intake, air filter (tried 'em all). The one I truly FELT....gears. Anecdotal evidence but... With an intake, tuner, Y-pipe, and a Banks cat back I could never spin the stock tires in my 05 Excursion. Swapped to 4.30s and I could melt them at will.
Of course, after the gears swap I would call Mike @ 5-Star. Tuner is #2.
To the OP: Isn't the 5.4L you have in your Lightning a Modular engine...
