I have a Flo-Pro V7, its a chambered muffler similar to a Flowmaster. Nice, deep sound. They are made up in Canada and are actually a little cheaper than Flowmaster. The quality is good, nice welds, and after 2 years mine still looks pretty new.
I'm not too fond of glasspacks, especially on an F-Series truck. They can sound just plain awful, like some suburban kid's supped up import. I prefer the Super 40's if I wanted a good muffler that sounded great. Also, Cherry Bomb and Thrush (no glass pack) sound great.
Yeah, I think the glasspacks are not the best choice for a V8. Unless you are looking for just plain loud, and don't care about tone. Chambered mufflers sound way better on V8s. I have been running a glasspack on the Explorer in my sig for 7 or 8 years and really like the way they sound on the 4.0s. They are just plain to damn loud on the V8s.

My 88 250 351W has glasspacks on it (like that when i bought it) has true duals, no cats and glasspacks. its crazy loud and kind of high pitched. Used flowmaster in the past, sounded pretty good.
