How many RPM's is too high to launch at?

I was wondering because I was racing my brother in his 04 titan 4x4 and when i launched my truck i launched in 4wd. Well i barked or spun all four tires a little bit. I think i launched it around 2500 RPM's. Can anyone tell me how bad this is on the truck.

If you are dumping the clutch you will get away with that kind of abuse 9/10 times. But that next time is going to destroy something. Aggressive slip is much better. . . beats on the clutch a little more. . . but less chance of tearing something apart. Just make sure its smooth and not slamming.

No he didn't even have a chance. He told me before the race that mine was a diesel and that i didnt have a chance. We both launched in 4wd and it wasnt even close after that. We raced to 85 and at about 75 he was about 2 1/2 car lengths behind me but he was pulling on me.

Get into the 120 tune and boost up to about 20 pounds. So whatever that is RPM is? I have know idea for me--Automatic, BTS and I'm busy watching the tree and boost gauge.

That is because your truck weighs close to 4 tons and the wind resistance is beginning to get you. Autos definitely smoke em much better. Keep the handshakers if you ask me. I'd rather have my coffee or what have you and still blow them away. Very satisfying. Autos rock.

That's a good kill.

Hand shaker? I'd love to have found a manual truck. Nothing in the work trucks was available when I was in the market.

Do you launch in 4wd and if you do when do you shift back into 2 wd? I`m guessing you have a lever, right?

When I launch in 4 we I leave it in 4wd till the end of the race. And I would rather buy a manual truck then have a on auto given to me.
