Small fire!!!

ok a guy i know has a halfton truck that he just boaught for dirt cheap and he plugged it in very soon after a flash of fire happened about under ther chassis around where the center column in the cab would be. the fire went out right away and he has plugged it in before anybody know what could be going on?? any help is much appreciated

Plug it in as in to a battery charger or hooked up the battery?

It's likely a constant power wire shorting or shorting against the column. Repair the wire where it's burnt and try again.
