Which Headers
factory. Full lenghts or shorties ? Maybe h-pipe
if I can find one to fit. Want to run 3" duels
at angle behind rear wheels. I know I am putting
on 2-chamber flowmasters "the only way to go"
Gotta get rid of the stinkin single 2" exhaust

Unless you really work your truck i think 3 inch would be overkill.
2 1/2 would be plenty big

I posted before under '351-air injection" haven't
got any responses. I did want 3" but since I have
learned that is overkill. My buddy has a big block
and he told me 3" would kill what little torque I
have. He only runs 2.5" on his truck.

As long as it's not a pulling truck with a 600 hp 460 2 1/2 will give you more torque ans won't hurt hp till oh around 6000 rpm's and who runs there truck that high??

'84 F-150 4x4 HD:-staun
dads 85 351-4 has 3" duals. But after crawling under
his truck it's 3" after cat. His truck sounds great kinda
like an inbourd boat engine in the water. His 351 has been
rebuilt, more compression, bigger cam, intake, etc.I don't
have a cat "from the factory" but I do have to go though
emissions so I should probually keep my air injection. I
just not sure which headers to buy.After I figure that out
and put them on I will drive the truck down to the local
muffler shop and have true duals run with 2 chamber flows,
2.5" from headers out to back of truck and I know it will
sound like a real truck then.
