Chriopractors are doctors but only in name really. Their pretty much usless in my opinion. But to get back to your question go see someone who's had a little more training in diagnosing things like this.

Guess I'll be making a call to the doc and see if he can help me out.

One massage therapist told me that drinking pop is bad for your muscles because it sticks to everything only making getting rid of the knots worse. She told me that it takes 33 glasses of water to flush out 1 can of pop. I was like WHA!?!

donjammer nailed it. It's muscle cramps. Just rub some dirt on it and get back in the game. Just kidding. Eat bananas every day. No kidding.

What ever it is, you gotta go in and see a doctor. He'll need a full history, obviously. If he's any good, he can do a couple quick tests, or refer you to someone who can. Muscle pain can be caused by some underlying problem with your skeletal structure, which in turn forces your muscles to compensate.

I just went in for another physio today, she's got me doing some stretching excersizes to alleviate the pain. Next week, she's supposedly gonna give me some core excersizes, so my leg muscles aren't compensating for what my abs are supposed to do.

I'm 33, and I don't want to be the crippled old guy at 40, so I'm getting it taken care of right away. You being 25, in pain for years, could take some work to get it all straightened out. You and me both have to get a new bed, mine is at least 8 years old, and there's a big soft spot right in the middle. Having dogs sleep on the bed doesn't help, when they restrict my natural sleep movements.

Taking drugs or supplements may help, for a while, but if you don't fix the cause of the problem, you'll end up taking more and more different drugs at higher doses. So see a doctor, get a referal to a physio-therapist, do the stretching excersizes, and get a new mattress.

Guess I should also get a new mattress set, being that the one I sleep on was purchased around 1975, or there abouts.

And what's nice about the stretching regimen is that it's......................free.

This may go against what some of you think, but I have great faith with my chiropractor. He is a Doctor of Chiropractic, and has been my chiropractor for over 20 years. I'm not saying he is the answer to your problem, but a good chiropractor will be able to give you relief from pain and will be able to diagnosis problems. It is amazing how good you will feel after an adjustment and treatment.

I have to disagree with those that say that Chiropractors aren't doctors and aren't any good. My Mom went to a chiropractor because of a auto accident years ago and was able to keep walking because of him. I was raised never going to anybody but him and still go to one now when I have back pain. The one chiro I went to had a study that the insurance doctors had done to try to show that chiro's aren't a viable source of medical treatment. Trouble is the study came back showing that they were better and somehow the official study disappeared. Now I will admit that there are several who are just interested in getting you back in, but on the other hand I've been to the doctor and have to almost hold onto him to keep him in the room long enough for him to check and find out what is the problem. Just handing out a script for pain or muscle relaxers isn't always the best way to treat a problem. Maybe in this case a chiro isn't the solution and then I would say that you should go to a good doctor and find out what he says and I would hope that he does more than just give you a scrip for meds in the first two minutes. If possible before I would go to a MD I'd try to find a DO to go to. I believe they are far better than a MD and aren't as quick to get you on pills.

I feel your pain Aspen, I had off and on back pain since I was about your age, now I am 38 and was told by the doctor I have to find a new career. I was a heavy equipment operator and the pain got so bad in my low back I couldn't even climb on a machine. I think an MRI is a good idea, ( I know it is $$) but it is important to get this figured out and make sure you are not doing damage that cannot be repaired. Not trying to scare you or anything, but if I knew what I know now when I was your age I would be much better off.
The damage in my back is not fixable so I just have to live with it the rest of my life. And regarding chiropractors and doctors I have seen plenty of both, and I think they are like most people in their profession, some are great, some are terrible, just like there are great mechanics and bad ones. Great truck drivers and horrible ones (you get the idea). I hope everything works out for ya and let us know if you get an MRI and what the Radiologist's report says.
