Leveling kit install

I put a ReadyLift 2.5" leveling kit on my F350 this morning. The first time I tried a week or so ago I could not get the axle to drop down far enough and I could not get the compressors to compress the spring enough with the springs off the truck, not enough leverage.

This time I put the compressors on when the axle was jacked up and the springs were compressed, tightened the compressors down a little and then dropped the axle. By the time the axle was touching the jack there was more than enough room. Popped the new spacer and ring in and voila. It meant 2 sets of compressors, but it was well worth it.

The ReadyLift directions do not mention compressors but I used compressors on an F250 and there was plenty of room to install a Daystar Leveling kit, not so on a 350 with 18" rims.

Correct, no compressors are needed provided that you have the truck high enough to lower the axle once you disconnect the shocks and sway bar links, and the coils should come right out.

Did the readylift come with alignment cams that go on the upper ball joint?

Besides the metal coil spacer and a 3/8" poly ring there are brackets that mount to the lower shock bracket.

The brackets have an offset to match the shape of the lower bracket and are specific to D or P side of the vehicle.

I would recommend caster cams as with the install you caused your caster to go more negative (closer to zero).
Caster setting is crucial to good handling on the 05-09 trucks.

I increased my positive caster with the cams when I did my 7000lb coils which only raised the front 3/4", handles much better now.

You can drive it around and see how you like it as is.

More positive caster will tighten the handling and steering and make it more responsive and not allow the truck to wander on the road as easily.

Caster cams:
