Your right about the F250 and 350`s though.
Same here, it wasn`t for cummins there would be very few dodges sold.

The new truck came home with me yesterday - anyone want to venture as to what it is? the three trucks I had narrowed it down to were a 2008 F250 w/6.4, a 2007 DMax 'Classic', and a 2008 Dodge Resistol dually. All three trucks are pristine, like new trucks - all three owners should be commended on the condition of their trucks (as opposed to the other couple dozen I looked at that were not up to my standards!!!).

[QUOTE=96sherm;7366746]being as he's a chevy man at heart, I'd say he's gone with the dodge because of the "flashy" aspect of the resistol edition... QUOTE]
Ooh don`t say that Sherm..........That could be tempting fate!
Since I`m feeling real lucky today I`m almost willing to bet it`ll be that the
FORD!
Any takers....

Resistol - very uncharted territory for me but its by far the flashiest and most rare of the three trucks I looked at!!! I think cummins is already poised to meet the next round of emissions. The mega cab is by far the most roomy. The leather in the Resistol is like that of a luxury car - the moonroof really blends well with the huge roof of this truck. How solid are the Dodge finances, or does that matter?
F250 w/6.4 - very nice cab but the the 6.4 is hard on fuel and they didn't do a good job with customer service on the last truck I owned. The Superduty platform is very solid with a nice cab. The 6.4 (and the Navistar agreement) will be obsolete soon. This package may be the last 'tuneable' engine as I suspect the 6.7 Scorpion will be virtually tamper-proof. Sirius satellite radio!
D'Max - I feel the engine is what Ford will be like with the Scorpion - it goes about its business without fuss. The Allison is quite the transmission, but so is the Torqshift. GM is in a financial pickle!! XM satellite radio isnt my first pick! Very car-like interior, sporty feel, although not as much 'big truck' feel like the other two???
Toyota - still doesnt make a truck in this class - too bad, the competition would improve all the other brands and the consumer would win!
There it is in a nutshell!!!

well then, how are the pricing on each truck?? seems like you have a good gut feeling that the scorpion will be an engine to beat, so how about getting a good deal on a 6.4 now, then dumping it for a 2nd run scorpion?? rip that DPF off and tune that 6.4 and you've got a mean machine from what i read!!
brand unbiased, in your shoes, i'd go with the Dodge. even if Dodge isn't around, there'll be aftermarket suppliers for parts, though you may need many of them the cummins has been around forever and the business seems like they will continue to exist to support new and existing customers.
on the other hand, i'm a ford boy, so i'd be tempted to bank my cash, buy a cheap gasser to get me by a year and a bit, then get a 2010, 2010 1/2 F350 scorpion in the finest style. i can't see Ford letting this one flop as another 6.0 moment!!!

I hope they dont make them tamper proof though, tampering is half the fun!
Here I am always trying to be the least bias as possible, but I would go for the all around package of the ford truck, doing some mods on the diesel to get decent mileage and more power. My second pick would be the dodge, due to the cummins, and third the chevy, due to my inexperience with them.
Stil no sig update....!!
