If your truck is a 1992 F150 and the rear axle is stock-the axle is a corporate 8.8 ring gear and it would have 31 spline axles on it.

Last year for the Ford 9" = 1986.

All 1980/86's 9" have 31 spline axle shafts.

Hey Bill-what was the gross weight rating for the late 9 inch on the 1986 F150?? The 8.8 rating was 3800 pounds.

While I'm here, What would benefit my truck more.

Complete exhuast job, 3" pipes, headers, fix any leaks, cherry bombs
OR
Put some 4.10 gears in my truck, if I plan to replace my 33's with 37-40" tires should I go 4.56? So what can I see better performance wise

1973/86: 3750 lbs. rear axle capacity, up from the 3300 lbs. that was the norm from 1957 thru 1972.
