Exclamation Help :)

Ok i have a 89 ford f-150 and in the steering colum you have the ignition switch at the end of the switch is a little metal peice with a snap ring holding it in place when ya take the snap ring off behind the little metal cover there is a little brass gear in there the little brass gear turns this geared mystery piece and the mystery piece pushes the ignition accuator to push the electric ignition switch to start the truck I need to know what the little mystery piece is if anyone knows i'll try to get a pic posted asap thanks

That's the upper accuator I think. Should still be available for about 10 bucks.

That is called an actuator also. Sometimes referred to as upper actuator.
Should be readily available from Ford.
