2004 Supercab FX4 bought used. Anchor points are either snapped off or ground off. All of them are gone so I don't think they were snapped off from a load being secured.
Any idea why someone would do this? Are these bolt on items that can be picked up at the dealer and installed with little trouble?
The bed has a liner in it, yes. Are you saying that in order to install or remove the liner you have to unbolt the anchors? If so, I can't see someone being so lazy that they would cut them off lol(there is still some metal in the holes flush with the surface of the bed).
The liner that I have has large pop outs up front that did not come with the truck. They seem overly large and unnecessary. Looks like a lot of rainwater would go in under the liner and cause rust. I'll be removing the liner when I get a chance and cleaning the truck bed and coating it in spray on bed liner to protect against corrosion. I'll put the plastic liner back in then because I carry my sled in the truck and the ski carbides will go through the rubber.
well i know that them anchor bolts are a pain in the butt...their a 1an a 1/2 long and most of the time they break when takeing out makeing for a fun time
so maybe thats the case with your that their broke off from trying to remove them and they figured not to reinstall the other not to make it noticeable
Well, I'll be pulling the liner out soon to clean up underneath and spray the metal with the spray liner and put the plastic liner back in. If they can be bought at the dealer and installed it should be no big deal. I'll do that myself.
