Help Need Please

My neighbor brought over a small little project he has a 1994 ford pickup it had a 5.0L motor. He said he got a 1995 5.8L motor complete he had it rebuilt. I removed the 5.0 and swapped the engine harness and put it on the 5.8 all matched up but the 5.8 did not have a knock sensor like the 5.0 did on the back of the block and the 5.8 has a sensor (air?) in the middle of the intake on the d/side. OK I took the knock sensor out zipped it to the block so the 5.0 comp is all hooked up I start the 5.8 it runs for a few seconds then misses then quits. Do I need a 5.8L comp and harness do I need TNT? I'm stuck doing this as a favor. All I want is it out of my garage. The exhaust is not hooked up yet because they did not match. I need to get it running good enough to get to the muffler shop. Help PLEASE. The engine swap form said you people have GREAT MINDS I hope so mines fryed

Some 302s share the firing order with the 351. Some don't. If you are using the 302 firing order, try the 302ho and 351 order.

See here now:

Windsor (289, 302, 5.0, 5.0HO, 351) Firing Order & Cylinder numbers

Remove the knock sensor and just leave the the connector hanging, if you leave the sensor strapped to the block it will rattle and cause all sorts of problems. Plug the air temp sensor hole in the 5.8 intake, the truck should have an intake air temp sensor up near the airbox. Make sure the firing order is correct.
Is this truck mass air? If so the existing computer will run the 5.8, if not you need a 5.8 computer.
