definately push for replacement. if it was improperly towed, and running on its side, who knows what internal damage could have happened!!!???

Best of luck with insurance - the main thing is that nobody was hurt though. A friend of mine is meeting with an adjuster for his 2005 Chevy today - it may be totalled off but not sure.

They tend to write them off if they ran on their sides or upside down. They wrote a new ambulamce off when it went on its side and ran. There was not much damage, but because the engine ran for a while they wrote it off.

nope... write it off. settle for nothing less. a vehicle will never be the same when its been in an accident such as this. you'll also get screwed on the resale because of a salvage title...

It won`t have a salvage title unless it`s a write off.

If it has to get inspected, it has a title of some sort.

That 93 civic I bought when i lived in pa, had to go through a mechanical inspection (passed and i didnt even do anything to it at all!) and when i sold it, on the registration, it had something on there that said it was a vehicle that had to get inspected.

I didnt even notice it, the one fella that came to look at it noticed it on the registration when I showed it to him.

That was a hail damage vehicle, maybe its different if it needs a structual?

As far as I know when a vehicle is a write off there is a pay out to it`s owner then sold off tagged as a total loss. If instead it`s repaired there is, of course, no total loss on this vehicle`s history.
Perhaps Glen will jump in and clarify this.

Never heard from SGI yet so still don't know what they are doing. You can always find out if a vehicle has been in an accident with SGI;s VIN # tracking that tells you if in an accident

maybe they'll stroke you a check for the full replacement cost at full MSRP... you take a walk to your local dealer, pick up an '08 for 15g less than the MSRP and walk away a winner
