performance issue

I have a 2000 ford f150 5.4 137,000mi. It seems over the years I have lost power. Everything is original stock. Could it be my exaust, tranny, or engine itself. Just did a tuneup with no effect. no engine check light. When you start at 0 it runs fine, when you are at 55 thru 65 and you want to speed up it will take it a long time to respond and it will crawl up to 70. either that or if you step on it too much it will kick in the overdrive when it shouldn't. I am also wondering what performance packages are out there. BANKS has a a stinger package for the 04;s and up but not the 00-04. Any help?
Thanks

Try cleaning the MAF, throttle body? Replaced the fuel filter yet?

You could also have a restricted Catylitic Converter....Any Exhaust shop can probably advise, they will put it on the rack, and read the inlet/outlet temps,if the inlet is quite different than the outlet, you have a restriction.
I had this done years ago,im relatively sure technology has improved since then.
My wifes 02 Impala had almost the excat same issue,GM had put out a service bulletin concerning some of the converters installed on the 02/03 models....symptoms includes, sluggish,no pickup, bad mileage etc...Never did the CEL(Check Engine Light) come on...it finally got to where it would do a whopping 40 mph floored......They replaced it under warranty....

Yeah, well GM had a defective converter design, Ford does not. Catalyst failures on '98 and newer Fords is fairly rare. My advise is to first, replace the O2 sensor if it hasn't been done in the last 80,000 miles. Also, clean the MAF sensor and do a good fuel injection cleaning. If none of those things help, then the cat may belong on the suspect list.

Must agree, havent heard anything about Ford Converters having issues,I replaced mine because the CEL was popping a code for bank 1 converter "beyond operational limits" or something like that, anyway miles on the OEMs is what convinced me to replace both.I also have replaced both upstream 0/2 sensors, and she seems to run much better....I definately have more pep,and thats saying something for a 4.2,in a Full size LWB truck!
