Proud new owner of a 1970 F250 Camper Special I think....
Hello All.
Thanks for the warm welcme. I just purchased my 1970 F250 for 700.00. I was told it was a camper scpecial, because it had the extra gas tank which has been removed, but on the bed it says Custom, so im not certain.
Mechanically the truck is pretty good. It needs the steering gearbox rebuilt, and probebly some suspension work, but other than that it purrs like a kitten and runs very well. The body...well???? The cab is solid, doors have some rust. It came with 2 new front fenders still in the box. The bed however is what im uncertain about. It does have some small rust holes in the quarter panels, and other then that it seems fairly solid. I tried to look for a rust free bed on the market,,,,but im not having any luck so far. I did find replacement quarter panel skins that would have to be welded in, but im not sure of what that whole project would cost. My plan is not to put a ton of money into this old relick, but id like to make it somewhat cool looking. Any suggestions, or ideas of costs would be appreciated. Again thanks for the welcome.

Hi you all, I own a 1977 F-250 4X4 High Boy H.D., bought it brand new in 1977. In 1980, I bought a new F-350 Cab - Chassis Dually, fabricated custom welding bed. Added a set of bottles, 400 Amp, Ac/Dc Lincoln Welder, been learin to weld ever since. Both of these trucks still in really good shape, shore proud of them. Both trucks have 4 speed manual trans., 4X4 has a new process 205 transfer case. Still learnin about these computers, but I'll soon enough get it. Got good enough to find this top notch web site with you all on it. Thank You Folks, for lettin me come along for the ride.

Hello FTE. I live in the mountains to the east of San Diego, CA. I currently own a 2000 Explorer. What led me here was info that a member named Boat Tug posted about the factory alarm reinitialization. Saved me from gutting the alarm system and an otherwise pristine Explorer.
Also of note:
1) I am currently in the process of freshening up my Uncles '79 F100 stepside 302/C6. Actually the C6 I rebuilt, and as for the motor I rebuilt a '90 GT fully forged and roller. Nothing really special about it. All the '79 stuff is going back on except for the cast aluminum valve covers to clear the roller top end. I rebuilt the stock Motorcraft 2150 carb. Should be all ready to drop in in about a week or so.
2) I am about to make a deal on a '21 t-bucket rod project. 350/350 combo with an extra body. Needs work but at $1250 for a clear title and a rod that runs other than needing electrical work and some other minor fab work? I'll take that! There's something about wiring that mystifies a lot of people. I think it's because there's magic involved....not sure.
3) As soon as the '79 is back together I start another F100 project. A '74 cab and stepside bed on a '68 frame with 1 ton, 8 bolt front and rear suspension, either a 390 or 360 (have not decided which of the two, I have both) C6 and my super bitchin Dana 70 with MASSIVE brakes. I have everything, well mostly. Still need to get the gas tank for between the rails behind the rear end.
As you can see I have a problem. Not even more cow bell will cure it. I'm an automotive nut.
