New to trucks Could use so help

Hi,

I am new to trucks and I just brought a 97 F-150 2 WD Drive and it only has a V6 4.2 and would like to know what I could do to give it More power? I have an 18Ft boat that I pull with it and Really need the power.

Thank for the help

Superchip, free-flowing cat-back exhaust system and low-restriction intake will all help but the fact of the matter is you have too little engine for the job.

ok, IF I put those upgrades (Superchip, free-flowing cat-back exhaust system and low-restriction intake) on my Truck is it going to give me a Big performance incease like Hp and torque after I put the money into it , or will it be a little incease and I have wasted my money.

Thank you

Dyno results for a new F150 with a 4.2 is 25 hp and 31 ft/lb. Your number will probably be lower, according to Superchips, because the truck isn't new. When used in combination with a cat-back system, you're likely to have better results, though the exact amount depends entirely on the combination you choose. The results will be noticeable, but if you're asking if you're truck will feel like its got a big block V8: no.
