Consistant Boost?

Anyone else not get consistant boost from their turbos?

When my truck seems to run great... I average 30lbs boost. Sometimes I see 33/34lbs. But, typically, I don't get more then 21lbs and I feel like little old ladies in VW Bugs can easily take me.

What's up with that?

Two conditions cause boost to be limited to 20psi.

1) Your engine has not warmed up to operating temperature yet.

2) You have an older flash that limits boost to 20psi during a regen.

If neither of those are the case sounds like you have a problem.

I would agree, mine is a job 3 with the latest re-flash, I have gotten upward of 35 when pulling really hard.

Get the new PCM software! It is a night and day difference from what you're describing. Sounds like you are in regen mode with the low boost and low power.

Max I typically see is 32psi. I have only once seen 40psi. It was up a long steep hill with a small utility trailer and a few ATV's on it. It was at 40psi and held there consitently until I crested the hill. Although now even with 7k lb trailer attached I only see 32.
