I only had a dog of mine pick up ticks once, and that was up near Lake Hughes.

We have it pretty good when it comes to that particular type of blood-sucking parasite.

We do. I got one on me up in the Whittier hills a few years ago, but that's the only time I've been bit. I've snatched them off my clothes before while gutting game. But that's usually lice instead of ticks.

I really don't like them and sure don't want to get a colony started at my home.
