After two Rangers with V6`s I have no beef with them............
They start, they run and keep on running fine, what more does anyone want/expect!

Which ones did you have? I have heard more bad about the 2.9? liter then the larger one.

Im sure the people that I know that have had them were alot harder on their vehicles too.

First we had the 1984 with 2.8 which was supposed to really suck, it sure didn`t............
Now we have the 1998 Ranger with 4.0, both Rangers were/are automatics.
I almost forgot that in the back I have my neighbour`s 88/2.9/5 sp with about 350,000 kms on it. He bought an 96 Ranger.

the worst part of my pops was the cab mounts rusted out and you could rock the cab back and forth off the frame. i always wanted that truck when i first got my liscense until i seen that... in hindsight i should have got it anyway... it was a cool truck, 3L/5sp... regular cab shortbox... cool blue, real chick magnet...

I had a similiar kinda truck for my first vehicle that I licensed. 1978 datsun supercab(haha) shortbox truck. 4 banger 5 speed. Got 35 mpg no matter how ya drove it, and top speed was 95ish mph. Had holes ALL over it!

To this day it still runs, but the body is pretty much gone!

I`m hoping to get to the 88 some time this year, it wasn`t running when I bought and I haven`t had time to check it out.

Yep, another one slipping away but it`s always like that when I`m busy with doing Bobcat work........
I can see how it would be different when you`re laid up Sheldon, time just drags on when you`re tied down recovering.
