Splitfire Worked good for me.

No, I didnt buy becasue of the Hype, Not because i thought i would get some HP or MPG Gain but for the fact that Wal-Mart had ALL SplitFire Plus on sale for Less than 1/2 Price, That is just over $1.20 a Plug.

So i installed them and My Rough Idle is almost 90% Better with alittle Vibe every once in a While but nothing like it was...No other inprovments but it was worth the change just to get the Better Idle, Now on to the Kinda Bad Part. When i start the truck, For about 20sec it will be really rough, Dropping down to about 300rpm and back up to just at 900-1000 over and over again for appx 20-25sec.. Still worth it as long as My Neighbor the Chevy Freak dosnt see or hear it. Now this condition could be something elce too but it started with the Plugs.

Just Letting you know to check Walmart for Deals, If they dont work your only out alittle over $10

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 04-Sep-02 AT 03:39 AM (EST)]Have you tried cleaning the throttle body? It will more than likely cure that erratic idle rpm problem.

The splitfires worked beautifully in my 302. It runs smoother and starts easier too. For the rough idle, try pouring some Seafoam into the carb while the engine is running and the rest of the can into the gas tank. It makes a lot of smoke until the overly rich Seafoam concentration that was poured into the throttle body burns and the remaining Seafoam in the tank will clean out the carb. It works very well and may cure the inconsistant idle.
