How do I remove my seized 351? Should I pull the torque converter with the motor since I can't turn the flywheel? I think that is my best bet. It's an automatic , electronic , 4wd transmission so I really don't wanna mess around with that. Just looking for the EASIEST way to get it out!
Easy, sure, pull it with the TC - but you might screw up the TC shaft or the pump in the tranny... And the seal will definitely be shot, but that should be changed everytime anyway
i did pull it with the torque converter attached and ran into problams with reachinh the bolts. after going to every store i could possibly think of looking for a wrench to work and failing i decided to make my own. and ta dah. thanks for the help. i think ill be ok from here on out however i will keep you posted
just like to say that this website is useless and thanx for nothing
One person responds to your post and the whole site is useless?
We are at the other end of your computer and not under the hood of your truck.
It takes time and patience getting a tranny released from an engine and it may require additional tools (like you made) with additional hands/brain power to get the job done.
We do hope you get your project finished and running in no time.
This guy doesn't make any sense. He says thanks for the help and that he will keep posted and then say that the website sucks. He must be bipolar or something and having a bad day. Oh well, everyone can't be happy. He asked for ideas. Nobody on here made him do it that way.
If you look at his other post about the 351 to 300 six, he got a pile of info about using a 302 (that he had already) instead--same computer etc, that would have made it MUCH easier. Worthless advice, I guess. You see it everywhere. Check the FE forums post about putting a ZF behind a 390. "Some men you just cain't reach...."
I have found this site to be invaluable! Not sure what this guy is talking about???? I have based several decisions regarding my project after researching this site! It is like having a mechanic, engineer, parts man, body man and a fabricator at your fingertips for free!

I have a lot to say to woody4good but he's not worth the ban stick. I find this website invaluable, I wish there was a magic wand someone here could wave for me to sometimes, but there isn't, you guys sure do try though. This is a sad thread delete it, and his other one...
I agree with all'o the other users that said that this site is a vry usefull one. Just like Tenforty_2 said (sorry if I Fed your name up) this site is invaluable!!!!
