does your inlet from the filter box, go above the radiator, or down? I thought the 460 went down and to the front, so it is getting cold air from outside. If you dont have that one, just go to the junk yard, you should be able to get one cheap. What i did, with my 5.8 then i drilled a bunch of holes along the driver side of the grill to allow a little more air access. Though probably not neccesary. If you want more, pull the entire filter box and lines out and clean them up, and wrap them in plumbers insulation tape with the siler outside. Or look around the hardware, for you own idea.
I was going to use this reflective insulation, it was cheaper, and you get a bunch of it. kinda looks like sun screen for you windshield. You would have to cut it and wrap your tubes, but ti would offer more insulation. I dont think anything alse out there is going to give you colder air then that, the factory stuff that draws from the grill looks pretty good to me.

1mpg doesn't sound like much, but when you go from 9 to 10, thats about a 10% increase. My truck gets about 11 average, unless I'm pulling the trailer. Then its about 9. Good thing I don't have to drive it every day...
