AMP INSTALL

Well, I went out and bought a Kenwood KAC-819 450max amp for my 10" Boston Accustics sub. Need a little help with the install, which i'd like to do myself. I know how to run wires and do what needs to be done i'm just a little confused on the wires entering the amp. Currently, I have a JVC cd player with one set of preouts, and Pioneer speakers. I don't want to amplify the speakers, just of coarse, the sub. It has a built in crossover. I know I have to get at the back of the head unit which i'm going to have to figure out how, anyone have any tips?(95 f-150) I run the RCAs from the deck to the amp. I run a ground from the amp..to the ground, and a power with a fuse to the battery pos terminal. Now my confusion comes with the speaker wires. Theres an input and output for speaker wires on the amp and i assume that is so you can run them through the crossover, but will they be amplified? I assume no. So as i understand it, I have to run new wires from all 4 speakers to the amplifier? Just need some straightening out and i'll be able to install it..thanks!

You forgot one wire. You need to hook up a wire from the "power antenna" wire on your deck to your "remote turn-on" on the deck.

Just hook up the sub to the speaker out lugs.
(turn on the Low pass filter too (LPF)

The "speaker in" lugs are for use instead of the RCA inputs.
They put these on there incase you have an older or oem deck
without RCA preouts. So if you use the RCAs (better) don't hook
anything up to the speaker inputs.

Leave all your other speaker wires alone.

Hope this helps, if not, ask more???

So i dont have to worry about the speakers at all? what about getting all the bass out of the speakers and to the sub? And the RCAs take the place of those speaker inputs and outputs?

Nope, leave all your speaker alone. You don't want all the bass out of the interior speakers. Remember you are just ADDing bass with the sub. So leave all your speaker wires alone, hook up the RCAs and don't use the speaker inputs. It should look something like this when your done...
