That may be true James, but he may want to keep it stock, and
if its not a day driver gas dosent count all that much

Well then you weren't running it correctly & didn't have it Tuned right, as the family always averaged 25MPG w/ all our 223c.i. I-6s.

Sacramento Vintage Ford has a header for the 223, and Summit has an Offenhauser dual carb. manifold. Check my gallery for a photo of the header.

16 isn't too bad, it's not going to be my daily driver. I plan to get the stock engine running as cheaply as possible while we restore the rest of the truck then swap in a big V8, since it's just going to be a fun vehicle and if I'm putting this much work into it I want plenty of power and don't want to worry about gas.
