Yeah Justin.....you nailed it....

The mileage is great...Thats not really the issue...18mpg combined is really the pinnacle of MPG for a 2 ton brick on wheels....

But the transmission has some weird issues, needs a gasket/seal rebuild kit for the engine, some odds and ends in the engine bay....

Some more interior panels....

A radiator support panel....

Bodywork...

The fuel tank issue resolved....

And frankly, as much as I am in love with the color, etc....I just refuse to dump another 3k onto the already 2k I have in the truck....And then have a TOTAL KBB of $800....

SO yes...I'm selling it.....Can't afford the nickel an dime crap, the other stuff....And frankly am VERY sick of these little suprises.....

Looking into a 1998+ Crown Victoria.....

I still bleed BLUE though!

who cares what its worth in the end they way i see it my truck is paid off so i dont have a 3 or 4 hundred dollar a month car payment for a new one. so the ocasional 3 or 4 hundred dollar repair is nothing and not to mention these truck are soo cheap it insure. and you can get a rebuilt motor for around 2500-3000 for a stock rebuild and thats if you dont do it yourself. and JY motors are under 500 all day so to me the money i make because i have my truck off sets any repair costs. i have a bond with my truck its almost the same truck my dad taught me to drive in when i was 8 on the farm.

Don't get me wrong guys, I love my truck...but the "Occasional 3-400 bucks" for the repairs are consistent, and forthcoming...

And having just lost my job (Again) it is a bit on the ridiculous side.....I went through this before with my 94....Loved it, dumped a ton of money into it...Then wrecked it, and had to scrap it for a measely $360....

So yeah...Well, that, and all the stuff it needs......And I think I'm ready for a change...

as for my truck after 18 months its 100% paid off and mine so i will be keeping it as long as I can, plus its already proven its value multiple times! so yea its staying in my fleet, will be looking to add a CV to the fleet for more of a DD tho when I don't need my truck...but I just love both the trucks and vics so yea lol!

Thanks. The red truck I just sold had it for about 2 years. It was a 93 302 auto and it had the **** beat out of it before I got it I paid 300 bucks for it and drove it everyday and it never missed a beat. The blue truck is my new to me dd. Its an 88 300- 6 with a 5spd has 175000 miles on it. My dad bought it brand new in 88 with 100 miles on it. I remember riding home when he bought it I was 5years old.

I will amend my decision to this:

If I can get enough money to get back in school, and from Financial Aid, or whatever, buy a Crown Vic for my DD....Or something to drive daily, and allow me to work on the truck in a more leisurely fashion, I'll consider keeping the truck...

The 88 has sat for a few years now my dad just didn't use it anymore. I just got it from him as a gift about a month ago and have had to put good bit of work into the ol girl but that's to be expected for a 23 year old truck. I hope to put more pictures up as I work on her. Would definitley like some nice aluminum wheels cause those hubcaps to me r terrible looking
