Question ???? Flywheels ????

Ok maybe someone can resolve something 4 me. Im wondering if the 6.9 flywheel and the 7.3 flywheel are balanced the same and interchangeable. Ive found a 5 speed tranny from an 86 6.9 and im wondering if the flywheels are interchangeable. since mine was an automatic and the man has all parts needed to make the swap for a reasonable price or so im thinking rite now. but if i have to track down a flywheel along with buying a new clutch assembly seals and so forth it may not be such a great deal. mine is an 89 F350 super crew with the 7.3 non turbo. Help!!!!

The 5 speed was not available in 86.
87 was the first year for it.

I have run several 7.3 engines with my 86 solid flywheel with no problems or vibrations.

I have seen several people say it will not work, and should not work, but that was not my experience.

Thats good news, I have been told the same thing twice since I posted this by friends. And the man that is selling the trans confirmed that its a 87 he was mistaken when we first spoke. He also says that he has run 7.3's with a 6.9 flywheel with no adverse effects, I was worried about beating out rear seals and worse bearing damage. but since your responce fell in line with what others have told me Im looking forward to the extra work to get my truck back on the road where it belongs. Dave S. THANKS Youve been a Big help I truely appreciate it.
