Replacing headliner

What is the best way to replace the headliner in the 85 Ford? I got glue but can't get the trimming off.

Not sure what you mean by "can't get the trimming off".

If you are talking about the metal trim panels, they are held on with metal clips. Just slid e putty knife under neath and pry it off.

Some models have 3 screws across the front of the windshield that hold it on, and obviously you have to take the sun visors off too. And the panel that goes across the back window and the seat belt covers.

Good luck getting the old one of without destroying the foam backing board. It's very brittle and cracks very easily. I know this from experience.

I still don't understand why the aftermarket doesn't offer replacement headliner units in ABS, for the regular cab and the super cab.

LMC and JC Whitney do have replacement ABS headliners, but they all have the provision for the radio and speakers. They're not personally what I would want, but it's all a matter of preference.

Wow I learned something. Last time I looked some years back, I didn't see any, or maybe I was like you, didn't want anything that wasn't somewhat stock looking.

I think those plastic ones with speakers look kind of cheesy IMO.
