Cleaning of Fuel Injectors.....

Well I'm hoping to have the van out soon and would like to get the fuel injectors cleaned professionally with a pressurized system. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed a difference after having it done...???

I have a `87 EB with the 3.0L but I'm pretty sure these same injectors are quite common in other setups too.....

Yes, immediatly, but if you will cleane them on engine some cleaning mixtures may kill spark plugs.

I'm aware of that but was going to change them out anyways so that's not a big concern. Exactly where did you notice the difference; MPG, power, starting in the cold...???

First - engine runs more smoothly, MPG - a bit better, power - better, starting in the cold - no difference....

I get the same results after spending the day waxing the van.......

Seriously, under the for-what's-worth category, I pulled my injectors with more than 260,000 miles on them and they looked perfectly fine. I put five of them back in (after replacing head gaskets) and a new one - due to some klutz dropping the old one and it landing right on the injector "nose". I mostly run Shell gasoline with the injector cleaner additives. Whether this helps - who knows?

It is no recomended to clean 1 injector. Clean them all, else you can get cylinder disballance.
